I recently moved to Corpus Christi, but I’ve been visiting this coffee shop whenever I came to town to visit family. When I first started coming, I was working at a local coffee shop in my hometown, so I was excited to find another shop that roasted its own beans and created specialty drinks with in-house syrups. I started following Driftwood on social media and really enjoyed watching the owner create content about dialing in, describing different notes, and crafting new drinks. I genuinely wanted to support the business and appreciated the passion that seemed to go into the coffee. Unfortunately, my experiences as a customer have consistently been disappointing when it comes to customer service. Every time I’ve visited, I’ve felt that the environment was not very welcoming or friendly. I’ve had the owner take my order before without even a simple “welcome in,” and during my most recent visit, despite there being four or five people behind the bar, no one acknowledged or welcomed us when we walked in. Love this spot! Best coffee in Corpus Christi and on my top 5 list in the state. Steady service. I have been coming for 4 years and everytime it is great. I love the espresso based drinks and usually haul a bunch of beans back. They have great options too choose from. I hope next time I can find some Ethiopian and experimental coffees!

Good coffee, good service, and great atmosphere. I was only there for a brief moment but definitely would visit again. It is a relatively small place, however; so I'd recommend avoiding peak times.

This is the best coffee in corpus. I've tried many if not all the freshly roasted coffee in the area and driftwood is by far the best. The only place ill order a plain espresso shot or an unflavored latte just to taste the true coffee flavors. Their homemade syrups and seasonal flavors are only outdone by the friendliness of the staff! Wonderful place with exceptional people, worth every penny 🩷

I’ve been visiting this coffee shop on and off for about a year now whenever I’m in corpus, really wanting to love it, but unfortunately I’ve left feeling disappointed each time. I can genuinely appreciate the passion the staff has for coffee, it’s clear they care about what they do. As someone who has worked at a local coffee shop that roasted its own beans, I recognize the effort and dedication that goes into crafting a good cup. That said, I’ve tried a variety of drinks on the menu over time, hoping to find something that stands out, but the flavors have consistently fallen short for me. Whether it’s the balance, strength, or overall taste, it just hasn’t quite hit the mark. I recently stopped by this past weekend to try their Valentine’s menu with my family. I thought my drink was okay, but my family disliked everything they tried. At this point, it feels like I’ve really given each visit a fair chance, and I’m still not very satisfied. The customer service has also been inconsistent.
